Had 1.2.7 installed and upgraded to 1.2.8 (finally modern GPU support…) - finally removing the need for my previous experimental ‘knock off’ similar app (hooray!)
The Start Icon’s all point at…
C:\Users\simon\AppData\Roaming\DeepArtEffects\DeepArtEffects.exe
While the actal program installs in …
C:\Program Files\Deep Art Effects\Deep Art Effects GPU.exe
There is no icon for the latter so on starting up using the icon I end up with 1.2.7 CPU
i.e. GPU version SHOULD install a seperate icon called “Deep Art Effects GPU”
This would then allow it to co-exist with DAE CPU (could call that one “Deep Art Effects CPU” to make it obvious)
It is sort of desirable to have both CPU + GPU versions installed at the same time as some images may break GPU (or at least they used to)
I only noticed that there was FINALLY a GPU version available by chance (as I still check back here once in a while)
It would seem a good idea for DAE to mail-shot all registered users announcing the fact that it now supports modern GPUs as this has been a major issue for a lot of us for many years now (There may be a good number of people who simply assumed modern GPU would not happen so stopped using it?)
